Summer Office Manager

The Summer Office Manager (OM), as a member of the Housing and Residence Life staff, works to create and maintain a professional front desk operation in the residence halls and apartments. Their primary responsibility is to oversee the daily operations of their residence hall/community’s front desk. In addition, OMs train and supervise Office Assistants, and indirectly supervise Summer Conference Assistants and Summer Resident Advisors while working at front desks. OMs are responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including the following: facilitating the daily operation and administrative responsibilities of the front desk; being an effective supervisor; being knowledgeable of and communicating safety and emergency procedures; being familiar with campus and community resources; being sensitive and adhering to the regulations regarding confidentiality; being visible, available, and approachable to their staff and residents; modeling appropriate behavior at all times; knowing, enforcing, and being able to explain the policies and procedures of the front desk; and completing assigned paperwork and administrative tasks.

Summer Conference Assistant

The Summer Conference Assistant (CA), as a member of the Housing and Residence Life staff, works to provide excellent customer service to camps and conferences visiting the University. Summer CAs live in residential areas and host guests of camps and conferences, and have a wide range of responsibilities, including the following: staffing the front desk, assisting with camps and conferences arrivals and departures; cleaning and prepping student rooms and lounges for guests ; distribution and collection of camps and conferences materials (i.e. room needs and linens); being familiar with campus and community resources; being sensitive and adhering to the regulations regarding confidentiality; being visible, available, and approachable to University guests and residents; modeling appropriate behavior at all times; knowing, enforcing, and being able to explain the policies and the conduct system; working specified NW/Duty shifts throughout the summer; and completing assigned paperwork and administrative tasks.

Summer Resident Advisor

The Summer Resident Advisor (RA), as a member of the Housing and Residence Life staff, works to foster and maintain a positive sense of community among residents, assesses and responds to the needs of residents on a continual basis, enforces policies, works at the front desk and performs administrative tasks. RAs are responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including the following: facilitating programs that build community and meet the needs of their floor, hall, and community; being knowledgeable of and communicating safety and emergency procedures; being familiar with campus and community resources; being sensitive and adhering to the regulations regarding confidentiality; being visible, available, and approachable to residents; modeling appropriate behavior at all times; knowing, enforcing, and being able to explain the policies and the conduct system; working specified NW/Duty shifts throughout the summer; staffing the front desk and completing assigned paperwork and administrative tasks. Summer RAs will serve residents in the University Apartments.
