Area Complex Director
EMU Area Complex Directors (ACD) are full-time, live-in professionals with a 12-month contract. They supervise 2-3 Graduate Hall Directors (GHD), Office Managers (OM), and indirectly supervise Resident Advisors. Residence halls are all coed and range from 250 to 400 students, and campus apartment complexes range from 100 to 215 residents. Primary ACD responsibilities include supervising GHD and OM staff, creating a positive living and learning environment, supporting academic success, adjudicating student conduct, responding to student issues and administrating their complex. A master's degree in higher education or related field is required.
Area Directors (AD) are full-time, live-off professionals with a 12-month contract. The two positions supervise three to four full-time, masters-level Area Complex Directors. Additional responsibilities include working with summer camps and conferences, summer school, and departmental projects and committees. A master's degree in higher education and three years supervising staff in Housing and Residence Life is required.
