Arts Front: An Unique Opportunity and Format

For 18 years, EMU has provided oral presentation and poster session platforms to support graduate research and creative activity. To both encourage and increase graduate student participation in the arts and arts-based disciplines, EMU offers the Arts Front , which allows for an emphasis on more experiential forms of research and creative activity (a poem, a sculpture, a personal narrative performance, etc.).

Workshops to support graduate student research and the GRC:

Workshops to support graduate student research and the GRC from previous years have included:

Note: these workshops include events and workshops not necessarily directly related to GRC preparation, but reflect instead the general Graduate School calendar to provide resources outside usual spectrum.

Presentation Format

Presentations must be either a Power Point or Prezi Presentation.  Mac Keynote presentations will not be supported during the GRC. Attached is an instructional on how to use Keynote's built in exporting system to convert your presentation prior to the GRC deadlines.

Poster Format

A poster template was developed for this year's GRC to adapt and use for poster presentations.  If you are presenting a poster, please follow the guidelines, and template below. Your poster must be no larger than 40" x 60" and can be printed in G01 Halle at the Poster Printing Center.

The Graduate School has developed a composite of best practices in poster design.
